I know, this title doesn’t exactly fit ‘homemaking’, but I think this article will help some ladies understand more about how to be money wise when it comes to being a homemaker.
I have often times found that it is indeed very hard to be a teen woman working at home. But now is the best time to learn! Many times when women get married, they say “Well, I never knew how to make a cake!” or “I never knew how to sew a skirt”. Those are skills I think you should learn before you get married. Yes, we all have a lot to learn in that short time, but we really need to consider the things that come with marriage and children.
One of those things is thriftiness! Yes, Isaid thrifty. Not everything we want can just be gone out and given to us; we have to work at it. For instance, if you notice you need a new skirt, but don’t exactly have the most money right then, you could make a skirt! That is one of the skills that I’m working on right now. I’m making a skirt for one of my dear friends as a graduation gift. Making clothes, and gifts, etc. is always a good idea.Plus, it is a great way to save money.
Saving money is one of the things you’ll need when you are married because most homes have a set budget for how much money they will spend in a certain amount of time. I think that earning money from home and spending your money in a wise way is a great idea!
A few ways to make money from home are: selling handmade clothes online or from your home, making crocheted or knitted items to sell, selling baked goods to the neighbors in your area, or babysitting children in your church or in your neighborhood. (But, someone that you really trust, and pray about it, even if you think it’s alright!) You could also do yard work for elderly neighbors or friends! These are all excellent ideas, and great opportunities for you to experience the ‘work’ you’ll face when you become a wife and mother. And in all these things, pray! Every morning when you wake up, ask the Lord to bless you with a thrifty spirit and a heart for His word! In everything, do it as to the Lord!
