A Taste Of His Love … by Rebecca Campbell
August 17th, 2011My family and I have been living in Yuma, Arizona for the last few months. My husband has been unemployed basically the entire time we’ve been here. But even though we have hardly had any income coming in, Yahweh has been so faithful to provide us with everything we need and sometimes the wants.
I have two children. My son Malachi is 3, and my daughter Shiphrah is 1 … and they both love melons! While in Yuma, we have been staying with a friend that we made. Her name is Blanca, and she has been so gracious to bless us with a place to stay, food to eat, and rides around town to run errands.
The other day I gave my children a little bit of her cantaloupe and watermelon, but I only gave them 2 little pieces each. (Now mind you, one day between my two children they ate literally 3?4 of a cantaloupe, true story.) Needless to say, they were a little bit disappointed that they couldn’t have more. Anytime this happens, I always tell my son; pray and ask Yahweh for it.
So today, our friend that works for a food ministry called us saying; “We just got a bunch of melons in! Bring your truck and get some!”
It was so awesome! We all got into Blanca’s truck and picked up about 150 cantaloupes. Then, while the children were napping, we got another call telling us to come back because they just got a truck load of watermelons in. So while they napped, we got about 150 watermelons and about a dozen honeydew melons.
When Malachi woke up from his nap, we brought him into the living room and we told him that he was a very special boy and that His Yahweh loves him very much. He is so loved that Yahweh wanted to give him a taste of that love … and we pulled a watermelon out of one of the boxes to show him.
Ohhh! To have seen the look on his face! It was priceless. I can’t even describe it. He was so elated and filled with such joy; his face just lit up. What a perfect gift from our Heavenly Father. It brings my heart such joy to know that our heavenly Father would take the time to honor such a simple request; talk about my cup runneth over!!!!!!
There is so much that I can learn from my children. I am trying very hard to learn how to have the faith of a child. Remember, there is power behind the prayers of a 3 year old.
