Magazine
January 16th, 2011The main purpose of this magazine is to encourage, strengthen, and exhort ladies to walk in Biblical Womanhood. Many people in the world around us despise the role of a keeper of the home (Titus 2:3-5). Feminism is alive and well, carrying a mindset that women need to compete with men, especially when it comes to the subject of laboring and provisions. Unfortunately, this mindset is very prevalent among people who call themselves Christians.
We read in the Scriptures that a woman is to be a keeper of her home. She is to guard and protect it. She is to love and obey her husband. She is to love her children. All of this, the Scripture tells us, is so that “the word of God be not blasphemed”. Many people are blaspheming, or scorning the Bible, both in their words and actions. I firmly believe that one of the reasons for this, is because so many women are not walking in the role that we are called to walk in, whether it be out of rebellion or ignorance.
While most people despise the role of a keeper of the home, there are quite a few who understand its importance, and there are many married ladies who believe in keeping their home, and following the instructions in Titus 2:3-5. That is all good and right, but we want to take this a step further. From our study of the scriptures, we believe that unmarried young ladies should remain in their parent’s home, serving their families, and preparing to be keepers of their homes. So many girls are pressured to go out and get a career, but if the divine calling is for us to be keepers of the home, then shouldn’t we be preparing for that role?
With that being said, please understand that we do not condem or judge women who work outside the home. There are many Shining Stars subscribers who feel differently about this, and we do not feel that it is our place to judge others motives and intentions. Our goal is to encourage women of all ages and backgrounds, but our main focus is to uplift those who are going against the grain … those who are willing to stand up (and stand out) for their convictions.
Each issue is published quarterly, provided there are material and finances to do so. There is no subscription fee for the magazine – I will gladly send it to anyone who requests it, as long as I have sufficient funds. I do ask that each reader would prayerfully consider helping to cover the cost of printing and mailing, with donations.
We do not have regular columnists, but rather we invite everyone to share what the Father has laid on their heart. You do not necessarily have to be an accomplished writer. If you are a daughter of the King, and have been saved by the atoning sacrifice of His Son, then you should have a testimony to share. Each of us should be learning and growing in our walk, and it is our responsibility to encourage and exhort others (Hebrews 3:13). Whether it be testimonies, exhortations, truths from the Scripture, words of encouragement, or practical information to benefit you in everyday life; I hope and pray that every bit in this magazine will strengthen and inspire you to be the woman that our Heavenly Father created you to be.
