I am sure that everyone reading this has heard the analogy some give, where the four seasons of nature relate to the four seasons of our lives. Having been born and raised in Georgia, I have always loved the changing seasons and I’m happy that I can still enjoy them here in Kentucky.
Autumn has always been my favorite of the seasons, with the leaves changing from green to yellow, orange, red and gold. The trees are ablaze with vibrant color and the air is crisp and cool. I remember my Daddy raking up the dead leaves and burning them and, to this day, the smell of burning leaves makes me feel nostalgic.
Now that I am nearing the end of the autumn of my life, I find myself looking back in time more than I used to. It’s not that I wish to actually be able to go back in time, no, but rather a time of remembering what some people call the “good old days”. Scenes from my childhood always bring a smile to my face.
