I don’t know about you, but I usually feel the most content and fulfilled when I am busy! I am very task-oriented and have a (potentially bad) habit of measuring success by achievement, thus I feel the pressure to constantly be “achieving”. And then I wonder why I get overwhelmed and feel pressure to accomplish all this “stuff”
There is a verse that came to mind today as I was thinking over a challenge for this week … “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10
I love to look up the meanings of the original words and so I did a very brief study on the words “Be still”. It is one word “rafa” (Strong’s H7503) and it has several different meanings, including “relax”, “let drop” “withdraw”, “let go”, etc.
Sometimes we need to stop and take a deep breath. We need to be still and recognize the sovereignty of our Almighty God. We need to let go of the burdens that we are carrying and relax in His Presence.
The challenge for this week is to find some time and make a conscious effort to “be still and know that He is God”. Try to clear your mind for a few short moments (or a few long ones!) and be refreshed and rejuvenated by His Spirit. I know I need it! How about you?

Yup, that’s me! Good reminder.
This reminds me of the song we sang last night at fellowship … “Still” by Hillsong. Being still and waiting on Him is always a good reminder.
Very true! Interestingly enough, I had forgotten about singing that song yesterday until just now! I guess it’s a second witness, eh?
Yes, I guess so! I really enjoyed that song, so I looked it up today, and that is how I found out the name.
