There are some books that I wish I could give to every girl I know! I love to read, but there are some books that have really spoken to me. Since the goal of Shining Stars is to encourage ladies in femininity and biblical womanhood, I would like to begin hosting giveaways of books that do just that. My hope is to do one giveaway a month, but that will depend on the available finances.
While watching the documentary “The Return of the Daughters”, I was blessed by what Jasmine Baucham had to share about serving her family in her home. Recently, I heard that she had written a book, and was excited for the opportunity to read it.
I enjoyed Joyfully At Home very much! I feel like this book is like a follow-up to So Much More by the Botkin sisters. While So Much More explains the why of stay-at-home-daughterhood, Joyfully At Home expands on what to do now that we are in that position. Jasmine addresses a number of different topics, including relationships with parents and siblings, joyful contentment, and how to be a blessing in our homes.
Jasmine comes through this book as a down-to-earth girl, using personal experiences, wit and humor, to communicate a vital message for young women about vision and hope. She challenges readers to live in full-hearted consecration to the Savior and His will here and now, and explains how that can be done in a scriptural manner.
I heartily recommend this book for all young ladies. If you do not win this copy, you can purchase it through amazon or ebay, as well as Vision Forum (but their prices are usually higher, unless they’re running a sale!)
