There are some books that I wish I could give to every girl I know! I love to read, but there are some books that have really spoken to me. Since the goal of Shining Stars is to encourage ladies in femininity and biblical womanhood, I would like to begin hosting giveaways of books that do just that. My hope is to do one giveaway a month, but that will depend on the available finances.

Several years back, I started swapping magazines with Sarah Bryant, founder of King’s Blooming Rose ministry, and editress of the KBR magazine. I was delighted when she contacted me recently, offering to send me a copy of her recently published book – The Family Daughter.

I really appreciated what I read. Sarah shared some excellent advice, as she encouraged daughters to be pillars of strength in their father’s house. It isn’t that the ideas put forth in this book are earth-shattering. It’s just that I think we sometimes get into a rut, and we need something to kind of jerk us to attention :) I was inspired and refreshed through reading it.

Using her own experiences, as well as testimonies and thoughts from others, Sarah exhorts daughters to fulfill their vital role in their family, instead of sitting around and waiting for their husband to arrive! She shares tips on how to practically bless our families, and discusses the importance of having a strong relationship with our Heavenly Father, as well as our earthly parents.
